As you know if you have been reading our Live Creative blog, you know we’re more than a purpose brand marketing and sustainability agency. We are passionate about sustainable business and do everything we can to build awareness and demand for sustainable goods and goodies. So, we created the one stop shop for top sustainable brands, called the Sustainable Marketplace. We love discovering new sustainable companies, trying out their products, and featuring them on our Sustainable Marketplace. These three companies really stood out to us this week: Kind Hemp Co., SAMARA, and Botanical Colors.
All three are three very different and unique businesses with one essential element in common: They have made a commitment to create their products and run their businesses in a way that benefits the environment, is ethical in terms of production and human or animal involvement, and all are committed to being sustainable for the long-term. In marketing terms, they live their brand purpose.
The best part? They don’t sacrifice aesthetics or quality in the process.
Kind Hemp Co. is a local Colorado company that makes and sells products made from hemp, one of the most sustainable natural fibers in the world.
Their products are functional, high quality, and much more affordable than many other companies that use hemp fiber to produce clothing.
“Our passion is to educate others on the benefits and advantages of the hemp plant and to eliminate the negative stigma around hemp due to its association with marijuana.” – Kind Hemp Co.
Not only are Kind’s products much more durable and soft than many others because they are made from hemp, but they have also made a commitment to sustainability. Producing clothing made from hemp is much more sustainable and eco-friendly than using other materials such as polyesters, and with every product purchased, Kind Hemp Co gives back to the local hemp farmers of America.
Our Top Pick from Kind Hemp Co:

SAMARA is a sustainable company that creates beautiful, quality vegan leather products. Their goal is to provide luxury vegan fashion that is as simplistic and elegant as true leather, without harming animals.
SAMARA began because the founders saw a need for minimalistic, beautiful purses and wallets without excessive branding, that were eco-friendly, did not harm animals, and were of the same quality as high end brands.
“Our goal is to create better fashion, implement more efficient supply chains and use and create more sustainable materials.” – SAMARA
As for sustainability, SAMARA creates their products using vegan leather made from water-based PU and microfiber, which is much less toxic and wasteful than the PVC that most vegan leather is made from. They are also looking to replace plastics completely by experimenting with plant-based materials like leather made from apples!
Our Top Pick from SAMARA:
Botanical Colors is a company that produces sustainable, eco-friendly, and all-natural fabric dyes.
They supply artisans and manufacturers with the materials and know-how to dye textiles in a way that uses less water, is non-toxic and biodegradable, and produces beautiful colors derived from plants and other natural sources.
“All colors are sustainably derived, many from agricultural and food waste products. We offer only the most robust dyes that perform on natural fibers with aplomb.” – Botanical Colors
Along with their beautiful natural dyes, Botanical Colors also supports the reshoring movement to bring textile jobs back to the U.S. by manufacturing their products in America and creating more job opportunities for American workers.
Our Top Pick from Botanical Colors:
We hope this has inspired you to start discovering more sustainable brands and shopping consciously! Businesses like these are truly paving the way for a more eco-friendly, conscious, sustainable and humane future; and by supporting them you are changing the way business is done—for good.

I love sustainable market place. It is the secret wish many of we transients have, to know where to begin when it comes to all of this and should I buy a cauldron to make soap or a loom for our dish towels. For one trying to enter it into being part of a better world–and it feels so god–this is warm, welcoming, and not condescending–all of which is lovely and would do a face plant were the products not so lovely and delicious and sot of ‘having the cake and eat it too.’ My mother had many things in her fridge: film, a shirt to be misted a year before, hunks of hard ax whacking cheese, big buckets of dust and grains that were to end up being something we would ingest or clean our hair with (had she made them. Cough) It was unfriendly, not pretty (and we snuck canned corn and olives). This is an extraordinary new world, a revelation and I mean it, as jumping off place, maybe a staying place. Tai hao (fabulous)
